Financial Modelling and Valuation

Financial Modelling has been curated after discussions with senior managers in several well-respected companies, which typically hire more than 1000 graduates each year for a variety of roles in the treasury, investment banking, equity trading, algorithmic trading, fixed income securities, forex, management of accounts etc.

The course is taught by faculty who have trained more than 50,000 students over 20 years. The focus is on teaching how to apply the concepts rather than understanding just the theoretical framework. There are more than 10,00,000 jobs in this field but finding skilled talent is difficult.

Course Content

Module 1:

• Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cashflow
• Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Payback Period
• Annuity and Perpetuity

Module 2:

• Capital Asset Pricing Model
• Return on debt and credit rating
• Weighted Average Cost of Capital

Module 3:

• Select a company (e.g. Britannia, SRF Chemicals, Dabur)
• Obtain the data from the annual report of the company
• Compute the ratios and create the financial projections
• Free cashflow and Enterprise Value
• Compute the share price

Module 4

• Dividend Discount Model
• Abnormal Earnings Model
• Financial Distress and APV Model

End term live project will be provided and evaluated by CXOs. Our CXOs have been in finance for many years and have mentored many professionals and students.

Course Delivery

The course is delivered over Zoom. Video recordings can be accessed post the class. A separate WhatsApp group will be formed with students who have enrolled for the class. Excel sheets will be shared prior to each session. You can speak to the course faculty at any time that you wish. It is expected that the course will take about 12 hours to complete.
