Python for Analytics

Python's convenience has made it the most popular language for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Python is taught with a focus on management and analytics. There are more that 50 million jobs which require knowledge of Python in the management world. The digital transformation that has taken place during the Covid lockdown has accelerated the process of automation which extensively used tool built using Python. It is not a surprise, therefore, that marketing, finance, and operations roles are asking for management graduates who are trained on Python.

This course is taught by a faculty, who has been a pioneer in bringing Python into the management curriculum in India. For the first-time in 2017, Python for Business Analytics was taught as part of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management.

Course Content

Module 1:

Different types of objects in Python – list, dictionary etc.

Using conditionals such as IF, ELSE, ELIF

For/While loops for repetitive task

Module 2:

Pandas – panel data

Numpy – numerical python

Matplotlib/Seaborn – data visualization

Module 3:

Reading data from different sources – excel, csv etc.

Pre-processing data such as removing missing values, outliers

Standardizing data

Module 4:

Exploratory data analysis

Regression model to predict customer churn

Stock price prediction using live data

Industry veterans’ former students of EdLightened would share their experience in the industry. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and network with experience professionals.

Evaluation

End term live project will be provided and evaluated by CXOs. Our CXOs have been in artificial intelligence and machine learning for many years and have mentored many professionals and students.

Course Delivery

The course is delivered over Zoom. Video recordings can be accessed post the class. A separate WhatsApp group will be formed with students who have enrolled for the class. Excel sheets will be shared prior to each session. You can speak to the course faculty at any time that you wish. It is expected that the course will take about 12 hours to complete.
